You may have noticed rather an absence round here, especially since I had been posting so frequently. As we all know, when life decides to throw itself at you, it does it style! That’s what happened to me. A few posts ago, I reported that we had had to attend a funeral for my husbands Grandfather. Days later, my mother was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery! She spent 2 weeks in hospital in the end, and is much improved. Huge thanks to everyone who left messages and comments of love and support – you are so kind. I was already behind at that point, but then, after a whirlwind of assemblies, sports days and discos, the little darlings broke up for their 6 week summer holiday! Instead of being ahead for this time, I am woefully behind with no hope of catching up.
So, I have decided to take an impromptu break instead. Instead of missing out on summer fun with my children trying to get back on top of things, I’ve decided to let some of it go instead – for a while at least. My kids are 10, and all too soon they won’t want to spend their summers hanging out with their Mum! So, I’m going to enjoy this one as if it is the last – just in case!
I will be around on the blog and Facebook page, as I have certain commitments I will be maintaining. But if it’s not set in stone, I might give it a miss. I’ll still have the Sent With Love Craft Kits, and a few Online classes and events, so watch out for those. And of course I’ll just pop in when I’ve made something cute I want to share! I will also be looking forward to September and the new start it offers. I’ll be looking at how I can improve your visit to the blog and offer you more when you do.
But I did manage to make a birthday card this week. The Global Design Project challenge is a colour one this week, and you know I love those! So I thought I’d get creative and make a little something that had been in my head.
The challenge this week is a colour challenge, and it’s a really pretty one!
Beautiful Birthday Card Using Oh So Eclectic.
This design had been in my head for a while and although I had imagined it in a different colour scheme – this one works beautifully too! I think this would be perfect for a female friend or relatives birthday card!
The flowers are stamped off using Berry Burst first, before being stamped properly on Whisper White card and die cut. I then added the Berry Burst die cut over the top – love that die cut, it’s gorgeous!
The leaves are Wild Wasabi, stamped onto Wild Wasabi card and die cut also. The sentiment is from Cool Treats and is stamped onto the Crumb Cake using Early Espresso ink.
