Hello! Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. Sara was kind enough to invite me to be a Guest Blogger on her hop, and I was delighted to say yes! It’s always fun hopping with a crowd. The Stamping Sunday theme for this hop is the Color Theory Suite (just to say, I always have to correct my spelling on that one – colour has a ‘U’ in it in the UK. Catches me out every time!) The suite includes the gorgeous Colorful Seasons stamp set, Seasonal Layers Thinlits & Glitter Enamel Dots which are the elements I own – but you can also grab matching DSP & ribbons!
Stampin’ Up! Color Theory Suite
I decided to combine the stamps & dies with my newest passion – Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste. I told you – I just can’t put this stuff down! Here is the first card I created with it:
For this card I die cut the branch from the scrap of card. It happened to be Early Espresso as then I figured I use the die cut later. You see, I didn’t want the die cut for the project – just the negative image left behind! I then used this as a stencil for Embossing Paste! I coloured the paste with a couple of drops of Early Espresso ink and applied it directly to my card base through the ‘stencil’
Yes, that branch is Embossing Paste! I then finished it with petals stamped and cut from the suite and a few Glitter Enamel Dots too!
With the die cut stencil a success, I decided to go ahead and create another version. This time I die cut the largest leaf from a scrap of card and applied paste coloured with Pear Pizzazz ink to my card through the stencil. I left the paste to dry a little while then I stamped on top of it with the coordinating vein stamp for the leaf! I used Old Olive ink so it would show up. The uneven base of the paste means I didn’t get a perfect impression, but I think that just adds to the effect myself.
TOP TIP: Create a mask you can use again and again by die cutting from a piece of Stampin’ Up! Window Sheet. Then you can just clean it off and use it again another time!
I hope you have enjoyed my projects today. Thanks once again to Sara for inviting me to join today. Please hop around and see all the projects – they are sure to WOW you. You can see the list of participants below:
