So, after my first Stampin’ Up! order arrived on Tuesday, I just couldn’t help busting out a few new things to put on my card for this week’s Global Design Project! And oh, the new things I’ve used are just so pretty! I squealed (and I’m not one for outrageous outbursts of enthusiasm – haha!) when I completed it – I LOVE IT! I’ve used the new Stampin’ Up! Oh So Eclectic for it – this whole suite is jaw-droppingly stunning – you have been warned!
So this week on the Global Design Project challenge it’s a sketch – and that’s always my favourite anyway, so check it out:
The challenge this week is a theme challenge:
Stampin’ Up! Oh So Eclectic…
I know! It might just be the prettiest thing I ever made! And I love every element of it. Let’s start with the Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste…
Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste
I started my card by colouring some Embossing Paste with Lemon Lime Twist ink. This is so easy to do! Just pop a little of the paste on a Silicon Mat. A little goes a really long way, so you only need a little. Next I added just 1 single drop of ink – only 1! Then mix it in using one of the Palette Knives. Once you’re happy with the mix, place your chosen stencil over your card base and just spread it on. Like spreading jam or peanut butter on bread! It really is as simple as that!
Then I stamped a couple of flowers from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and die cut them with the coordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits. These also contain the dies for the diamond which is cut from Gold Foil. I’ve finished my circular element (Sticthed Shapes Framelit from Night of Navy) with the sentiment. This is actually a two layer sentiment which I cut in two so I could add the words into a single line as desired.
And there you have it – a gorgeous card to send to a friend or loved one. Or change the sentiment and make it a Birthday Card – who wouldn’t love to display that on their mantle or window sill?!
So many thanks for the Global Design Project for their challenge that led me to create this card – I’m so pleased I did.
I can highly recommend you run (not walk) to my Stampin’ Up! Online Shop to grab both the Oh So Eclectic bundle and the Embossing Paste supplies – you really do NEED these in your crafting arsenal!
