I’ve been keeping a little secret! A couple of weeks ago I received an out of the blue email from Elizabeth – from Creation Station – asking me if I would like to join their design team! Well, once I’d scraped my jaw up off the floor, I replied back with a ‘would I ever!’ I have admired the Creation Station team and their blog hops for several years. Some of the best designers IN THE WORLD are on this team! So, thank you to Dena, Elizabeth and the crew for inviting me to join them.
And onto today’s hop which has the theme ‘Something Old, Something New’. I took that to mean using both old and new Stampin’ Up! products together (rather than weddings!) and created this:
I love this card & gift ensemble so much! The colour combination is fresh and zesty – a perfect birthday card for teenagers or tweenies!
Birthday Card For Teenagers
Teenagers (& tweens) can be tricky beasts, can’t they? Not too adult, not too babyish (either of which boundaries can move in a nanosecond!) I reckon this card would fit the bill however, now matter how ‘cool’ they need to be!
For the card, I started with a Night of Navy base. I added a layer of Whisper White finished with just a thin strip of Lemon Lime Twist. It’s the stamped with balloons from the Super Duper stamp set (old) also in LLT.
Next I added a large circle cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits – love them – and added the Happy Birthday Thinlit (new) cut from Real Red card. I then finished the card with a few Real Red Enamel Dots.
Happy Birthday Gift Box
I made the gift box using my Envelope Punch Board (possibly my favourite old product of all time!). I then wrapped it with a funky bow using Lemon Lime Twist Finely Woven Ribbon. I’m telling you, that stuff ties beautifully.
I finished with a panel created the same way as my card so they match. No teen/tween is too cool for matchy-matchy!
Pin the image to save the Colour Combination for later!
Thank you so much for hopping by and joining me for my first Creation Station blog hop. I am so honoured and excited to part of the team! I hope you’ll carry on around and see what the rest of the team has in store for you – it’s guaranteed to be gorgeous!
