Today I’ve had another clear out in my craft room! I did the retiring stamps, punches and dies a few weeks ago and now have them all ready to give away at my Stampin’ Up! Catalogue Launch Party. In the meantime, my papers, cardstock and ribbons remained in their homes. But with my new products arriving too, my modest craft room was starting to look a little bit full (understatement!), so I sorted those out yesterday too! I feel it will be easier to create in there now too – it had gotten a little messy (another understatement!)
Onto today’s blog post, and as it’s Thursday, that means Global Design Project challenge! It’s a theme challenge, and these often catch me out. In fact, my project was rather last minute and I nearly didn’t take part this week as I was struggling for an idea. However, the tidying meant I found an item I’d forgotten about and it went from there – check it out:
The challenge this week is a theme challenge:
Cute Food Gifts Using Stampin’ Up! Wood Words & Label Me Pretty
Ooh! I bought a case of the Ball Jars last year when the set Jar of Love came out with the intention of creating something gorgeous with those together. And I never did! I uncovered the jars still sealed in their packet as tidied and BOOM! Stampin’ Up! Wood Words & Label Me Pretty are going to be perfect sets in your collection if you like to package cute food gifts for family and friends.
WHAT DID I DO?
I actually started with the jar. I added plain flour, cocoa, sugar & chocolate chips in layers to the jar. All the recipient need do is add butter for yummy cookies! To the top I added a die cut circle of Wood Textures DSP and a Stitched Shapes Circle of the white wood in the pack stamped with the cockerel from Wood Words.
The label from Label Me Pretty is also stamped onto the white washed paper from the pack and punched using the coordinating Label Punch. I’ve simply tied the jar with the new Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon and added the label using a Glue Dot.
For the card, I used a Pool Party base and added more of the Wood Textures DSP with a Bermuda Bay scalloped edge. This was made using the die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I’ve stamped the cockerel and sentiment from Wood Words again onto the white wood pattern and die cut again using Stitched Shapes Framelits. A little more ribbon ties the two projects together. What a cute way to present a cute food gift for someone! End of term for school is coming, what about for Teacher Gifts?
