Welcome to the start of a new week. It’s pretty exciting week too – for tonight I will get my first look at the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue. I’ve heard a few rumours since OnStage this weekend, but it’s not the same as seeing it in all it’s glory in just a few hours time! I’m so excited! In the meantime though, we carry on as usual getting all inky with the fun stamp sets we have now. One of these is Stampin’ Up! Garden In Bloom. I must confess that this stamp set has been sorely neglected in my collection. Which is why when I prepared for my class last Friday, I tried to use a few of my underused stamp sets.
STAMPIN’ UP! GARDEN IN BLOOM
I’ve seen a few cards recently with the cut-out section added back in with dimension. I even tried it myself a while back. It’s a technique I haven’t used in a while though, and figured it was perfect for this quick card to give it a bit more interest.
I’ve stamped the front panel with lots of these gorgeous flowers from the stamp set. I used coordinating colours of Pink Pirouette, Sweet Sugarplum & Rich Razzleberry. I started with the bigger flowers, then added smaller ones and leaves in the spaces between. The sentiment is then cut out and put back in using foam adhesive. I used the Foam Adhesive Strips for mine as they are a bit higher than Dimensionals and you can see more of a peek at that background card. You then attach them both to a base card – mine is Rich Razzleberry.
VAL’S TOP TIPS!
- Stamp a bold and bright one layer card
- Die cut a portion using a fun shape or one with interest – like my Stitched Circle.
- Use Foam Adhesive Strips – they raise the insert higher than normal
- Use a bold base card – one that will really show even if it’s just a peek!
